Environment
Petron is expanding the global energy supply through
acquiring, exploring and developing unconventional oil
and gas resources while maintaining our commitment to
health, safety and the environment. In all Petron
operations environmental sensitivity is of paramount
importance so to minimize the surface and emissions
impact to the environment. We are establishing ourselves
as a major positive force in global environmental
awareness with the energy community by participating in
environmental programs, symposiums and research projects
directed at reducing gas emissions and developing
alternative energy sources.
The Company is an active
participant and works with organizations such as the
Methane to Markets Partnership Program, the Clean Air
Task Force, and the International Center for Sustainable
Development and with others to reduce emissions of
methane, a greenhouse gas, through the development of
projects that recover and use methane as a clean burning
energy source.
 Petron is proactive in
the pursuit of insuring that it is environmentally
compliant by working closely with each country’s energy
and environmental ministries and regulatory agencies. We
will be recognized not only as an industry leader
committed to expanding the availability of
unconventional energy resources, but one who would never
place economics or corporate profits above what’s best
for the environment.
